HERE'S THE COVER TO THE NEW ALBUM OUT APRIL 9TH! -Paramore

Paramore's 2k13's Album Cover:
Simple isn't?
That's the first thing that came to my mind. This album might be different from the Paramore we all know, maybe this is the time when they are finding new selves and trying to shine in a different way. As I hear the latest single (as of jan.27, 2013) "NOW" I felt a different Paramore, this time they approach a technical aspect, they focus on using mixing methods unlike before they are really raw performers, what you hear is what you get.
Will this change affect them? What can be the out come of their songs, and other way I still love and enjoy Paramore.

Even though singer Hayley Williams was born at the end of the decade, 1980s new wave appears to have heavily inspired Paramore during the sessions for their upcoming self-titled album (due April 9). The first proof is in the just-released single, "Now," which the trio began streaming on their official website late Monday night. With a mix of Gwen Stefani-like spoken/sung vocals, lean and mean, driving rhythm track and wailing lyrics, "Lost the battle/Won the war/Bringing my sinking ship back to the shore," the song's chorus explodes with the soaring pledge, "If there's a future we want it now."
In a note to fans in December, Paramore said the gothy ska track felt like the perfect way to return on their fourth album.

Listen To The Single Here!
"It just feels like the perfect way to start this new journey we are embarking on not only as a band but as a movement," they said about their first effort since a difficult parting of ways
with Josh and Zac Farro in late 2010. "To show people that you can lose battles but come back and win full on wars. You can rise from ashes. You can make something out of even less than nothing. The only thing you have to do is keep moving forward!"
The urgency of "Now" harkens back to the band's 2005 debut, All We Know Is Falling, but the mixing of Williams' voice with those of guitarist Taylor York and drummer Jeremy Davis signals a new direction for the band.
The follow-up to 2009's Brand New Eyes was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen, former bassist for Beck and Nine Inch Nails. The group wrapped the video for "Now" last week with director Daniel Cloud Campos.
Paramore's fans were, of course, super psyched about the new song, with @matttehh tweeting, "OMG sounds so so different but so so good!" and @spfanliz writing simply, "It's amazing!" Other responses on the band's official Twitter page ranged from the more sedate "Awesome!" from @LivingParamore to "OMG" from @calderonesuxx.
In a recent interview with England's NME, Williams said the new disc, the band's first as a trio, was influenced by everything from acclaimed British avant rock act Alt-J as well as lots of Reagan-era music. "Taylor [York, guitarist] was listening to Alt-J a lot, I was listening to that Sirius XM channel called First Wave every day just getting my gothy vibes on in the car, and Jeremy (Davis, bassist) keeps us well versed in new hip-hop," she said.
"I'd be lying if I said we didn't collectively listen to more electronic music during this process than ever before. I think it's just because that genre is super hot right now. Even so, I wouldn't say we sound like any of those bands. It sounds more like someone let us loose in a blow up castle full of instruments and we just bounced around it in for a few days." She clarified, though, that fans should not expect any dubstep on the disc.
In addition to "Now," the new album will feature the songs: "Fast in My Car," "Grow Up," "Daydreaming," "Interlude: Moving On," "Ain't It Fun," "Part II," "Last Hope," "Still Into You," "Anklebiters," "Interlude: Holiday," "Proof," "Hate to See Your Heart Break," "(One of Those) Crazy Girls," "Interlude: I'm Not Angry Anymore," "Be Alone" and "Future."

Q&A: Hayley Williams on Paramore's Next Chapter

By Patrick Doyle (from rolling stone)
January 9, 2013 12:15 PM ET
Hayley Williams of Paramore

It's been a rocky couple years for Paramore: original members Josh Farro (guitar) and Zac Farro (drums) left in December 2010 with a bitter note online, claiming the band was the "manufactured product of a major label." Singer Hayley Williams pressed on, heading to L.A. with a lean lineup of guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis, with producer Justin Meldal-Johnson (Beck, Garbage), for their fourth LP, Paramore (out April 9th), their first songs since 2009's Brand New Eyes.

In this new Q&A, Williams and guitarist Taylor York tell Rolling Stone the band almost ended entirely. "There were definitely days I would wake up and think it would be so easy to put up some sort of letter saying we've had a good run," Williams says. "And then there were days that you would wake up and you would have a song in your head and know that there is purpose."

Musically, where did you want to go after Brand New Eyes?
Hayley Williams: That whole time for our band was such a dark season. It was emotionally exhausting, and by the time we got around to the point where we were going to start writing, we just really wanted to enjoy the process of making an album, really just enjoy the reality that we're in a band and our dreams have come true. You know, we should be happy about all this. So I think that's what was most important to us, and we didn't really know how that would manifest itself through the music, but it just happened.

Hayley Williams Leads Revamped Paramore in First Show in Almost a Year

Did you think at any point that Paramore was going to end?
HW: There were days for me. I always wanted to be a part of Paramore, but I just didn't know – "Is this a reality? Am I kidding myself?" It was just tiring, I guess. We were all friends, we grew up together, and that was the most disappointing . . . That sucked more than any of the band-professional career stuff. I mean, of course that sucked, but when everything sort of started falling to pieces between Brand New Eyes and making this album, there were definitely days I would wake up and think it would be so easy to put up some sort of letter saying it's just too hard, we've had a good run, and go, like, get a job serving coffee or doing something normal. Maybe that would be less stressful.

And then there were days that you would wake up and you would have a song in your head and know that there is purpose and there's freedom in being a musician and an artist, and you're really thankful.  Just like in everybody's life, there are ups and downs and there were doubtful moments, but there was something in the back of our minds that never let us give up.

Did it surprise you in the way that the two guys you grew up with, started the band with, just walked away?
HW: Taylor?

Taylor York: I think it did in a sense. [They] knew that the end of that season was coming, but I think the way it happened was a surprise. I don't think that that kind of separation or that kind of breaking off is ever an easy thing or ever comes without messiness of some form, but I don't think we knew it was going to get that crazy and that dramati. So that was a surprise. But it kind of just was what it was. I think for a long time that really affected us, and it felt like we could not get away from it, and it was what everyone wanted to talk about. As time went on, we were able to just kind of separate from that and leave it in the past and be like, "You know, that really sucked."  But I think there's a future waiting for us. Let's walk towards that instead of staying in this sort of high school drama.

HW: I don't think Taylor could have said it any better. The fact that two guys left the band and then we decided not give up, but then a year later we wrote what to me is our best album yet? Everything happens for a reason so, as cliché as it sounds, I can't afford to look at it any differently.

How do you think everything the band went through came out in the new songs?
HW: I know how it came out musically, because I was there watching Taylor come up with all of these riffs and all these things that you'd never been able to hear him express fully, because as much as Taylor played leads onstage, you couldn't really hear his personality, because there were a lot of guitars on stage. So for me it was really fun to write this record with him, because I think before this record the last time we sat down in a room alone and wrote a song together was when we were 12 and 13 years old. All of a sudden I saw this mad scientist come out of him, and he just became really an incredible producer as well. He was doing all of our demos and all of our tracks for that, and it was great. And that inspired me so much to write the way that I wrote this time around. For the first time, I'm not angry on every song, I'm not spitting lyrics. I'm singing lyrics, and it's nice. It just feels good. And sure ,there's still songs where I dig into matters of, you know, matters of, I don't know, pain, and matters of the heart and more introspective stuff, but I was able to look at that in a new way. I don't really feel like I'm standing there screaming at a wall anymore. It felt so healthy to write it.

Was the huge success of "Airplanes" [B.o.B.'s 2010 pop hit featuring Williams] a surprise for you?
HW: Yeah, that was a total surprise. When I heard the song I loved it. I felt like "Wow, this could really be something," and all the guys were like "Wow, you have to do that, that's rad." It just worked out. I love B.o.B., and that sort of partnership seemed to work perfectly, and the song was fun to sing. It couldn't have been a better first little soiree to that whole scene. I felt really loved and accepted. It was cool.

Do you see yourself doing more of that stuff in the future, as a solo artist?
HW: Um, I don't know. It depends on what comes along. Especially with this album, I think we all started to see how versatile we are as a band, and maybe in areas we just weren't willing to open ourselves up to. We sort of – we let ourselves try these things. It depends on what comes along. I'm definitely open to anything that really inspires me, so it just depends on a few things. I definitely don't feel like it would cause a rift or anything with our band. I think we all support each other in those little adventures.

I heard a lot more pop influences on this record.
TY: Yeah, we've talked about it a bunch recently, but it was funny going into this record, I think, realizing where we came from and why fans in the past have connected with us – I think we were so focused on that, so I would just try to write these kind of Paramore songs, just like I would use the Paramore formula and try to write, like, these heavy guitar riffs . . . I was really focused on writing like that, and I'd concept these songs and bring them to Hayley and she'd be like, "Eh, it's cool, but I just don't feel it," and it would be something random that I had kind of just written that I wrote for myself, so I told her "You'd never like this in a billion years," and that was what she'd connect to. I don't think we knew that we were going to write super poppy songs or dance-y songs, but it just kind of happened. It was really scary, but it was really cool.

How long did it take to adjust to the new lineup?
HW: Well, one thing that was really good for us, we went on a mini tour. We went to South America. We did some stuff overseas and a few shows on Warped Tour. We kind of just threw ourselves into it. There wasn't a whole lot of time to sit around and sulk or be too scientific about too much. The three of us just fell into our roles and made it work. Not to say that there weren't the little awkward hang-ups now and then, because we had to get used to this new version of who we were as a band. Personally, it caused a little bit of an identity crisis for all three of us. It was just like, "Let's just go. Let's just move forward."

I know Josh Freese has been touring with you. Have you guys settled on a drummer yet?
HW: Um….no.

TY: After all the member changes and all the drama, we just want to make sure that at least the three of us can hold it together. For now, we're kind of going day by day and just trying to figure it out. We have friends who are going to play with us, but we don't have a solid lineup for a drummer. My brother plays guitar with us, and my friend John plays guitar and keys, so I think they're going to be hopefully more of a permanent fixture, but we're still trying to figure out the whole drummer thing.

When are you guys thinking of doing a full tour?
HW: Honestly, we're still trying to figure that out. Our record comes out in April. I would assume we're going to start touring in early spring.

Do you think you guys finally settled on a lineup that will be around for a while?
HW: Wel,l John and Justin have been playing with us for a few years now. I mean, you don't see them in the photos or whatnot, and who knows if that'll be something that we do in the future, but our fans know them, they're a part of our touring family. Literally for Taylor – it's his brother onstage with him. So they're definitely a permanent thing for us. As far as a drummer goes, I don't think that we have found the perfect fit yet, but when we do that'll be something that we have to figure out. For us, touring is already such a family lifestyle anyways – everyone that tours with us, our crew, most of them have been with us for years and years now. We like it to feel like that. We like that our fans know Riley, our guitar tech. We like that because we like those people to understand how much we appreciate them and how much we value them. So I don't know about the drummer, but everything else in Paramore camp, as far as the touring goes, is pretty permanent.

Do you have any relationship with Josh and Zac now? Do you talk to them?
[Silence]

TY: Time is a beautiful thing, and we're letting that do its thing.

Josh and Zac Farro Exit Statement

Josh and Zac's Exit Statement

Hey guys,

Let me start by apologizing to you for the way everything went down on Saturday.  I had a statement typed ready to post to you guys but Hayley released one without my permission.  We were not going to issue a statement until we worked out our exit agreement with Hayley.  I wish it didn’t have to happen that way, Zac and I wanted to be the ones you heard it from.  I want to be honest with you guys about how this band formulated from day one. I did not think Hayley’s version told the whole story, at least from our perspective and hopefully this will explain a bit about why we are leaving.

Zac and I had a garage band in high school with the intentions of just making music for the love of it. We met Taylor and our friend Jason Clark at our school and found out that we shared the same musical tastes.  So, we asked them to join our band. It was some of the greatest times of our lives playing music in Taylor’s basement with them.  We obviously needed a lead singer and one day Zac met Hayley.  We asked her to come try out and eventually to join the band.

Months down the road things changed and this band became all about Hayley.  She had a manager at the time that controlled her every move along with her parents.  They didn’t like the idea of Hayley being in a rock band so they forced her to leave wanting her to pursue a solo career.

Hayley went off to write and record her solo demos while the four of us continued on without her.  A couple of months later Hayley came and asked us if she could use the song “Conspiracy” that we had all previously written together.  We agreed that that would be fine.  I got a call a while after that from Hayley telling me that her manager said that Zac and I were invited to be back in the band (the band we started), but not Taylor and Jason because they weren’t good enough in his eyes. Hayley brought in Jeremy and our first rhythm guitarist Jason Bynum as the other two members.

We travelled to LA a few weeks later for a showcase and it was a nightmare.  Hayley’s manager would tell the band to be in the lobby of the hotel at a certain time, but he and Hayley wouldn’t show for hours.  We found out that they had been meeting with record label executives all morning without us, which is totally weird given that this wasn’t simply a solo artist, but we were a band. The band was in the dark the whole time.  After many meetings between Hayley, her manager and the labels they decided to sign her to Atlantic records. We didn’t understand why Hayley was the only one signing the contract since we were told this was a “band”, but we were too young to grasp all of this.  So far, Zac and I haven’t signed with another label, although I guess our part of Paramore sure could. Next thing we knew we were having a signing party for Hayley.

Our next move was to rerecord her solo demos with our own music rather than studio musicians to make it sound more genuine. Meanwhile, we tossed around band names. I wrote out a list of names, including “Paramore”, a name my old band with Taylor and Jason Clark had thought about using. Obviously, we settled on that name. The label received the rerecorded demos and once again tried to fire the entire band, saying we were terrible. Thankfully Hayley and I had been writing some new songs together (Hallelujah, Here We Go Again) that the label was pleased with so that acted as leverage for the band to stay. The label and management then decided to build our band up the grass-roots route. They put Hayley on Fueled by Ramen not making it known she was signed to Atlantic as well. All the while we still questioned whether or not we were an actual band, but Hayley continued to insist we were, despite our being ignored and pushed around by the label.

They then sent us all to Orlando to rehearse and write eight hours a day for our first record. Half -way though this process, Jeremy decided to quit.  We were all really upset about it. So we finished the record, replaced Jeremy, and hit the road with Hayley’s father as our tour manager/driver of a twelve-passenger van. Her dad would constantly threaten to “pull the plug” on the whole band if we complained about anything, suggesting that we were hired guns and Hayley was the real artist, when in reality we were also part of the band. We’ve always been treated as less important than Hayley. It’s been obvious how her family views things.

Jeremy ended up rejoining and we toured non-stop for two and half years building our fan base, pretending to be a band that started naturally. In reality, what started as natural somehow morphed into a manufactured product of a major label, riding on the coattails of “Hayley’s dream.”

Before recording our next record, we kicked out Jeremy for his lack of work ethic and participation in things that Zac, Hayley and I didn’t agree with.  At this point it was just the three of us to record Riot. Once the record was done, we needed a bassist and another guitarist. Eventually Zac and I convinced Hayley to let Taylor rejoin and she convinced us to let Jeremy back in, promising he had changed his ways.

Once again we hit the road and toured on our biggest record as a band. As you all know Hayley and I dated and broke up during this album cycle. Things then started going downhill for our band. Hayley and Jeremy’s views started changing from what we all once believed in. The band almost split after cancelling a tour in Europe, but we managed to keep it together somehow. This is when Zac and I started to consider quitting the band.

Once we finished touring on Riot, we came home for a break and started writing for Brand New Eyes. Hayley presented lyrics to us that were really negative and we didn’t agree with. For example, “the truth never set me free”, which contradicts what the Bible says in John 8:32 (“and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall sat you free”). We fought her about how her lyrics misrepresented our band and what we stood for, but in the end she got her way. Instead of fighting her any longer, we decided to just roll over and let it go.

Hayley claimed that this record reunited us as band and made us grow closer together, when in reality we were all growing further apart. Suddenly the band had spilt into two sides. Touring became more difficult since we couldn’t agree on anything. The friendships our band once had were no longer existent. Amos 3:3 says, “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction”.  In addition to the band turmoil, touring had really taken its toll on us both. We left home at such a young age and missed taking part in normal teenage years.  When you own part of a band and are constantly playing, you make sacrifices.  Touring has taken its toll on our family members as well. I specifically remember many moments where our parents would break down in tears when we had to leave. It broke my heart. Seeing our siblings grow up so much during our absences was never easy either.

After a lot a prayer and counsel Zac and I came to the decision that it was time to leave the band. We truly feel that God is leading us elsewhere and is going to do great things with us. The intention of this statement was not to belittle or disgrace the rest of the band, it was simply to clarify our decision for leaving and our desire to finally tell you guys the truth.  We are still hoping to work out a friendly way to leave our part of Paramore intact with the remaining band members, including Hayley.

We want to thank you guys for all of your love and support over the past 7 years. It’s been an honor creating and playing music for you. If music is what God calls us to in the future, we hope that you all will be a part of it.

All of the glory be to God,

Josh and Zac

Brick By Boring Brick Paramore Lyrics

Brick By Boring Brick
Paramore
Lyrics

Well, she lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of the world that she's left behind

It's all about the exposure
The lens I told her
The angles were all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of butterflies

Keep your feet on the ground
When your head's in the clouds

Well, go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

So one day he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out

But it was a trick and the clock struck twelve
Well, make sure to build your heart
Brick by boring brick
Or the wolf's gonna blow it down

Keep your feet on the ground
When your head's in the clouds

Well, go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
And we'll bury the castle, bury the castle

Well, you built up a world of magic
Because your real life is tragic
Yeah, you built up a world of magic

If it's not real
You can't hold it in your hand
You can't feel it with your heart
And I won't believe it

But if it's true
You can see it with your eyes
Oh, even in the dark
And that's where I want to be, yeah

Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

Ignorance Paramore Lyrics

Ignorance
Paramore
Lyrics

Can't make my own decisions or make any with precision
Well, maybe you should tie me up so I don't go where you don't want me
You say that I've been changing, that I'm not just simply aging
Yeah, how could that be logical?
Just keep on cramming ideas down my throat

Wo-o-o-ho-oh

You don't have to believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger... I'll point you to the mirror

If God's the game that you're playing
Well, we must get more acquainted
Because it has to be so lonely... to be the only one who's holy
It's just my humble opinion, but it's one that I believe in
You don't deserve a point of view, if the only thing you see is you

Wo-o-o-ho-oh

You don't have to believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger... I'll point you to the mirror

This is the last second chance
(I'll point you to the mirror)
I'm half as good as it gets
(I'll point you to the mirror)
I'm on both sides of the fence
(I'll point you to the mirror)
Without a hint of regret... I'll hold you to it

I know you don't believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger... I'll point you to the mirror

I know you won't believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger... I'll point you to the mirror

Careful Paramore Lyrics

Careful
Paramore
Lyrics

I settled down
A twisted up frown
Disguised as a smile, well
You would have never known
I had it all but not what i wanted
'cause hope for me was a place uncharted
And overgrown

You make your way in
I resist you just like this
You can't tell me to feel
The truth never set me free
So i did it myself

You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach a little more,more,more,more,more

Open your eyes like i opened mine
It's only the real world
A life you will never know
Shifting your weight to throw off the pain
Well you can ignore it
But only for so long

You look like i did
You resist me just like this
You can't tell me to heal
And it hurts remembering how it felt to shut down

You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach a little more,
more
more
more,more

The truth never set me free
The truth never set me free
The truth never set me free
So i'll do it myself

You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach out
You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach out more

More
More
More, more
